Siegmundsburg is a small village in the Thurigian Forest (approximately 800 m above sea level). It is an excellent area for hiking (we recommend the use of hiking boots for this). What concerns the weather at the end of october temperatures below of 10 degrees could be normal.
Our school takes place in Haus Rosenbaum.
Transport.
We have ordered a bus for the transport from Jena to Siegmundsburg and back.
The bus will leave Jena on Thursday, October, 19 at 11 p.m. at the Main Bus Station
Knebelstraße.
The station is in the centre in a 5-minutes walking distance of the Institute.
Participants, who do not know the way around are requested to meet at the
Mathematical Institute, Ernst-Abbe-Platz 1-4, 3rd floor, in front of rooms 1301 and 1348
not later than 10.45 a.m.. We will start our return journey in Siegmundsburg on Monday, Oct. 23, at 1:15 p.m.. The expected arrival in Jena will be at 3 p.m..Programme. Opening of the school will be on Thursday, Oct. 19, at 3 p.m.. The preliminary programme will be attached to this message as a ps-file. There are possibilities for additional short communications of about 25 minutes. Interested participants should contact the organizers until Thursday evening.
Financial affairs. As announced the Graduiertenkolleg supports the participation of students and young scientists. In particular, the local coasts (accomodation and full board) will be taken over by the GK. In addition there will be an allowance to the travelling expenses inside germany.
